Support & FAQ
Find answers to common questions about Reseta.
How does meal scanning work?
Reseta offers 4 ways to log a meal: take a photo (AI identifies the dish and estimates calories and macros), scan a barcode (looks up the product via Open Food Facts), photograph a nutrition label (AI reads the label via OCR), or import a photo from your gallery. You can also describe your meal in text and the AI will estimate the nutritional values.
Is my data secure?
Yes. By default, all your data stays on your device. If you create an account, data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored securely on Supabase servers with Row Level Security, meaning only you can access your data. Meal photos are analyzed in real-time by AI and are never stored on our servers.
What is the AI coach?
The AI coach is a conversational assistant powered by GPT-4.1 Nano. It can log meals and activities for you, suggest dinner ideas based on your remaining calorie budget, generate a full daily menu, and provide personalized wellness advice. Your last 50 messages are saved for context continuity.
How is my calorie goal calculated?
Your calorie goal is based on the Mifflin-St Jeor equation for Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), multiplied by your activity level to get your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE). Your chosen pace (gentle, balanced, or strict) determines the daily deficit. A safety minimum of 1500 kcal for men and 1200 kcal for women is always enforced.
Can I use the app without an account?
Yes! Reseta works fully offline. You can complete the onboarding and choose "Continue without an account" at the end. All features work in offline mode, including AI meal scanning, the AI coach, step counting, and all tracking features. The only thing you miss is cloud sync across devices.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. Under GDPR, you have the right to access and delete your data. To delete your account and all associated data, go to Settings > Delete Account. This triggers a Supabase Edge Function that permanently removes all your data from our servers. In offline mode, simply clearing app data removes everything.
